Buckingham Palace, built in 1705, has served as the official London residence of the UK's royalty since 1837.

Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms, including 182 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms, perfect for hide and seek.
You can visit inside the residence during summer while the queen vacays at her Windsor castle.
Watch the Changing of the Guard outside the palace, which is one of the oldest ceremonies and starts at 10:45am on most days. When the new group of guards arrive the trumpeters of both the old and new guard sound a royal salute and are sometimes supported by a marching band made up of 35 musicians. This is free.
