Trafalgar Square is one of London’s most famous squares surrounded by art galleries (e.g. National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery), and historic buildings and monuments.
In the middle of the square is Nelson’s column erected in 1843, after his victory in the battle of Trafalgar.
Every year a Christmas tree is placed in the centre of the Square, which is given as a gift from Norway in honour of Britain’s commitment to Norway during World War II.
